    Laser Spot Welding is a welding technique which uses a laser to create a weld spot which fuses metals to a rigid connection. A laser produces a beam of high-intensity light which is focused into a single spot to provide a concentrated heat source, allowing narrow, deep welds and high welding speeds.

    This welding technology is used for products with one of the following characteristics:

    High speed welding
    Placing of up to 50 spots per second each in a different location via the use of a laser scanner weld solution

     

    Difficult access
    Weld parts to over molded components where access for traditional resistance welding heads is difficult

         

    Small heat affected zone needed
    When small spot sizes are required to not damage the materials or electrical components close by the weld area
     

     

    Simultaneous weld on multiple spots
    To maintain alignment of parts, the part is welded with at 2 or 3 spots simultaneously thru an energy share set-up of the laser.
